He is survived by: his sons, Stephen (Rebecca) and JD Goering (Kelly); and his grandchildren, Anna, Jack, Alice, Reid and Leland.

“Still grieving for Jerry. We enlisted in the Marine Corps on the same day (somewhat impulsively). We were in touch for many years and got together in Oceanside, CA to play golf when Jerry was at Camp Pendleton and I was at MCRD, San Diego for school. I saw him in Hutch in 1969. He'd returned from Vietnam, been discharged and was on his way to the golf era of his life. His advice to me was "Keep'em down Doug." You rest in peace Marine. You lived a great life. Semper Fi”
