He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Childs and Allie Childs (Melvin); his wife Bonnie Violet Ferguson; his daughter Glenda Meadows; his grandson Corey Meadows; and his siblings, Billy Childs, Tommy Childs, Warren Childs, Walter Childs, Raymond Childs and Margie Lowe.
He is survived by: his children, Betty Cox (Roy) of Council Grove, KS, Jim Childs (Kris) of Bruceton Mills, WV, David Childs (Susie) of Hutchinson and Dan Childs (Carla) of Hutchinson; his sister Anna Thomas of Chillicothe, MO; and his close friend Del Fesler of Hutchinson. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren.
