He was predeceased by: his parents, John H. Buie and Hazel N. Buie (Krause); his former wife Mary Elizabeth; his stepdaughter Darcy Davis; and his sister Betty Mahan.
He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Jane Mclver; his son Gene "G. A." Buie, Jr. (Cinnemon) of Gardner; his stepchildren, Charles "Chuck" Davis (Pam) of DeSoto, Tammy Davis of Lawrence and Melissa Dodson (Harold) of Hutchinson; his sister Barb Miller (Rick) of North Carolina; and his grandchildren, David, Katie, Becky, Chrissie, Daniel, Morgan, Abigail, Skyler, Austin, Quinton and Bryce. He is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren.
