He was predeceased by: his parents, Warren Essells and Emma Essells (Jaeschke); his wife Connie Jo Ary; and his siblings, Warren Essells and Majorie Colcord.
He is survived by: his children, Gina Long of Hutchinson and Tim Long of Clayton, OH; and his grandsons, Andrew Ysac of Hutchinson and Noah Long. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in his honor to the Friends of the Hutchinson Public Library through Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
