He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Pitts and Sarah Patton Pitts (Freerksen); his wives, Bonnie Obenhaus and Margaret Hager; his son Richard; his siblings, Lloyd, Roy, Carl, Charlie, Leo and Cleo; and his stepson Steve.
He is survived by: his former wife Betty Daugherty; his children, Lisa Shaun Pitts Buchanan (Dan) of Newton, Larry Dean Pitts (Judy) of Blue Springs, MO, Randy Craig Pitts (Kathy) of Lee's Summit, MO and Alan Roger Pitts (Kathy) of Newton; his stepchildren, Sharon Hager Sellens of Wasilla, AK, Pam and Pat; and his brother Orrin Pitts of Hutchinson. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; thirteen and one on the way great-grandchildren.
