With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Elmer Wilkey of Hutchinson, Kansas, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 13, 2025 at the age of 78. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the sacred silence of farewell, Elmer is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that his light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of his loved ones. And as his memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that Elmer's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Steven James and Mildred Vogel Wilkey; and his wife Mary Sue Wilkey. He is survived by: his children, Stephanie Kofford (Michael) of Rock Springs, WY and Scott Wilkey (Tiffany) of Sterling, KS; and his sisters, Vicki Daise (Ron) of Osborne, KS, Judy McDowell of Monroe, WA and Jo McQuinston of Emporia, KS. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be given to Missions Revival or Hospice of Reno County in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Sterling.
