He was predeceased by: his parents, William "Don" D. Cooper and Hazel M. Cooper (Hake); his son Gregory S. Cooper; his son-in-law Bob Schmelig; and his sister-in-law Linda Cooper.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Cooper of Hutchinson; his children, Randy Cooper (Nora) of Belle Vista, AR, Kari Schmelig of Hutchinson and Michelle VanDeLinder (Glen) of Overland Park; his brothers, Jerry Cooper (Doris) of Weaubleau, MO, Robert Cooper of Osage City and Charles Cooper (Nancy) of Mankato, MN; and his pets, Ellie and Bailey. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
