With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Don R Young of Hutchinson, Kansas, born in Emporia, Kansas, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 8, 2024 at the age of 88. In the hush of twilight, as the stars twinkle in silent homage, we reflect on the legacy Don leaves behind and his impact on the lives of his loved ones. Though Don may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the memories held dear by his family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Dale S. Young and Leona C. Young (Hamilton); his brother Duane; and his granddaughter Addison. He is survived by: his children, Kirk Young (Katie) of Kansas City, KS, Kara Winter (Ron) of Wichita, Kelan Young (Julie) of Hutchinson and Kyle Young (Tahnee) of Hutchinson; and his sister Kay Feuerborn of Overland Park. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren.
A rosary was held on Wednesday, November 13th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the Church of the Holy Cross (2631 Independence Rd, Hutchinson, KS 67502). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Wednesday, November 13th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Trinity Catholic High School or Church of the Holy Cross, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main., Hutchinson, KS 67501.
