We bid farewell to Carol F Shannon of Hutchinson, Kansas, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on January 16, 2025 at the age of 86. Carol touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ralph Vopat and Mildred Vopat (Vodraska); her husband James L. Shannon of Bernard's Catholic Church; her son Clarence J. "CJ" Shannon; her granddaughter Rebecca "Becca" Shannon; and her siblings, Evelyn Arensman, Mona Brubaker, Edward Vopat and William Vopat.
She is survived by: her children, James Leland Shannon II (Karen) of Hutchinson and Donna Richards of Pretty Prairie; and her grandchildren, Garieth Shannon of Hutchinson, Rachel A. Shannon (Alexander Ratzlaff) of Hutchinson and Selena Wapelhorst of Wichita. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, friends and family.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 23rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Bernard Catholic Church (911 N Kansas Ave, Ellsworth, KS 67439).
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Hutchinson Animal Shelter, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS, 67501.
