With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Bettye J Stauts of Hutchinson, Kansas, born in Marshall, Texas, who passed away on November 14, 2023 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Charleston Hargrove and Tennie Lee Stauts (Waldrop); her siblings, Naomi Smith, Charles Ray Stauts and Russell Stauts; and her husband James Dean McMahan.
She is survived by: her children, Belinda Gayle Bagby (Gary) of Hutchinson, KS, James Bryan McMahan (Mary) of Sturgis, SD, Debra Lynn VanRanken (Earl) of Medicine Lodge, KS and Jerry Duane McMahan of Gilmer, TX; her brother Robert "Bobby" Lee Stauts (Mildred) of Ocean Springs, MS; her grandchildren, Jason McMahan (Tara) of Royse City, TX, Aubrey Broach (Chris) of Farmersville, TX, Michael Ashley (Jessie) of San Diego, CA, Ryan Keast of Winnemucca, NV, Katlyn West of Attica, KS, Kilie West of Wilmington, NC and Brianna Bagby of Topeka, KS; her great grandchildren, Keagen Broach, Levi Broach, Spencer McMahan, Tyler McMahan, Brooke McMahan, Holden Ashley, Ashley, Elliot Solis and Isabellah Solis; and her close friend Sherry Kerns of Wichita, KS.. She is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to First Southern Baptist Church or Hutchinson Public Library, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
