He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Leslie Richard (Dick) and Ruth Marie Smith (Howerton); his wife Sarah Lorraine Smith; his sons, Leslie Allen Smith (Angie) of Humboldt, KS. and Dwight Richard Smith of Humboldt, KS.; his sisters, Connie Ruth Clarkson (John) of Arma, KS and Peggy Smith Myers (Mike); his grandchildren, Kyle Martin, Sarah Smith, Brittany Haskins (Jasper) and Joshua Smith; and his great grandchildren, Braydon Allen Smith and Rocky Paul Haskins. He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Neosho County Community College Foundation Plaza Project or the Humboldt United Methodist Church and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.
