He was predeceased by: his parents, Orville Bitner and Evelyn Bitner (Hetrick); and his wife Traci Dee Rankin. He is survived by: his children, Noah Bitner of Elkhart, KS. and M'Lynn Bitner Smith (Avery); and his siblings, Barbara Myers of Rolla, KS., Carole Bryant, Phylis Clair, Cindy Bitner Medina, Becky Jo Romes, Kay Larson, Alan Bitner and Van Bitner. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.

A memorial has been established for Elkhart FFA.
