She was predeceased by: her parents, George McElheny and Wilma Joan McElheny (Dale); her son Nathan Elliott; her brothers, Randy and Tim McElheny; and her granddaughter Kaylee Elliott.
She is survived by: her husband Ben Newell; her children, Jamie Elliott (Holly) of Hutchinson, KS, Bill Elliott of Wichita, KS and Natalie Pelzl (Rick) of Medicine Lodge, KS; her stepchildren, Brandson Newell (Rachel) of Greensburg, KS and Misty Newell (Eddie Towers); her sisters, Debbie Shankle (Curtis) of Kingman, KS, Susan Rickets (Greg) of Hutchinson, KS and Christine Walters of South Hutchinson, KS; and her grandchildren, Brandon, Alyssa, Katlyn, Gage, Emily, Carson, Travis, Kailyn, Eddie, Jr., Tasha, Breanna, Austin, Tanner, Tye, Taton and Treyson. She is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren.
