It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Shirley A. Baker of Hoxie, Kansas, born in Dodge City, Kansas, who passed away on February 19, 2022, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph L. Clapper and Wava L. Clapper (Record); her husband Byron Baker; her brothers, Earl Clapper and Nicholas Clapper; and her half-sisters, Nadine Crookshank and Phyllis Peck.

She is survived by: her children, Roger Baker (Tami) of Port Bolivar, Kirk Baker (Kelly) of Hoxie, Kansas and Nicolet Davis (William) of Stratton, Colorado; and her brothers, Dennis Clapper of Hemphill and David Clapper of Hoxie, Kansas. She is also survived by fifteen grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be given to the Hoxie Christian Church or The Sheridan County Benefit Walk and sent in care of Mickey-Leopold Funeral Home, PO Box 987, Hoxie, Kansas 67740.
