He was predeceased by: his father Robert "Bob" Geerdes; and his grandparents, Henry W., Margaret Geerdes, Clem and Emma Helen Ochs.
He is survived by: his mother Carol Geerdes (Ochs) of Hoxie, Kansas; his brothers, Doug Geerdes (Dana) of Hoxie and Vic Geerdes (Kari) of Hays, Kansas; and his nieces, Kayla Geerdes, Kelsey Geerdes, Katie Geerdes, Madison Geerdes and Morgan Geerdes. He is also survived by extended family and many friends.
Memorials are suggested to the St. Frances Cabrini Cemetery and Hoxie DSNWK.
