He is survived by: his parents, James Ross and Lorraine Heuerman Reed; his wife Chalen Reed; his siblings, Barbara Hicks (Joe) of Lawrence, Kansas and Jim Reed (JoAnn) of Olathe, Kansas; and his father-in-law Kenneth Asher of Louisburg. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
