He was predeceased by: his parents, Jessie Blanton and Lenora Simpson Blanton; his wife Mary Blanton; his children, Mary Haverkamp and Sammie Blanton; his sister Shirley Richey; and his granddaughter Ashley Moppins.
He is survived by: his children, Bill Long of Cameron, Chris Long of Horton, Louis Blanton of Horton, Kansas and Pebble Hare of Horton, Kansas; and his siblings, Tammy Stephens of Ottawa, Kansas, Wendell Blanton of Tulsa, William Blanton of Richmond, Howard Blanton of Bartlett, Jack Blanton of Hamlin, Frank Blanton of Hiawatha and George Blanton of Fairview, Kansas. He is also survived by seventeen grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Sammie Blanton memorial fund to be designated later and may be sent in care of the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary.
