He was predeceased by: his parents, Marvin Herrs and Clara Ohlde Herrs; his wife LaDean True; his grandson Jaden Dieckmann; his brothers, Ralph and Steve Herrs; and his siblings-in-law, Eunice Herrs, Jeralee Beikman and Harold Oehmke.
He is survived by: his children, Kent Herrs (Joleen) of Linn, Jayne Lehman (Donald) of Linn, Dean Herrs (Connie) of Linn and Lisa Dieckmann (Brad); his brothers, DeWayne Herrs (Roberta) of McPherson, KS and Rodney Herrs (Karen); and his siblings-in-law, Donnette Oehmke of Linn, KS, Raymond Beikman of Independence, MO, Neal True (Ruth), Noel (Linda) and Bill True (Connie). He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
