He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew L. Wing and Anita Mewhinney (Schofield); and his stepfather Edward Mewhinney. He is survived by: his former wife Phyllis I. Mapes; his wife Nikki D. Shafer; his children, Heather M. Holt (Robert, Jr.) of Mayetta, KS and Donald A. Wing, Jr. of Holton; his siblings, Sandra Frost (Frank) of Hays, KS, Patty Littrel (Andy) of Hays, KS, Fred Wing of Topeka, James Steinbach (Linda) of Oklahoma and Joseph Wing of Missouri; his grandchildren, Meaghan Koon (Andrew Harrison), Reaghan Koon, Courtnee Wing and Colbee Wing; his stepgrandchildren, Montgomery Holt, Madison and Maisie Luck; and his great grandchild Hunter Harrison. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
