She was predeceased by: her parents, George L. and Frances U. Whitsel, Sr. (Koelsch); and her siblings, George Whitsel, Jr., Melvin Whitsel, Franklin Whitsel, Meda Rankin, Edna Whitsel, Susie Suchy, Lillian Claphan and Josephine "Jody" Young.
She is survived by: her husband Morgan Smith; her children, Michael D. Smith (Debbie) of Hoisington, Randall D. Smith of Fort Worth, TX, Sabrina Mariño (Oscar) of Lawrence, Sonya Brozek (Wayde) of Wamego and Kevin Smith (Jennifer) of Lee's Summit, MO; and her sister Dora Jean Gregory of Great Bend, KS. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
