He was predeceased by: his parents, John P. Smith and Pauline Smith (Swann); his wife Norma L. Whitsel; and his siblings, Gloria Guyselman, Marie Yarmuk and Paul Smith.
He is survived by: his children, Michael D. Smith (Debbie) of Hoisington, Randall D. Smith of Fort Worth, Sabrina Mariño (Oscar) of Lawrence, Sonya Brozek (Wayde) of Wamego and Kevin Smith (Jennifer) of Lee's Summit, Missouri. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
