He was predeceased by: his father Andrew Baum; his daughter Leota Hekele; and his siblings, Helen Wolford, Mary Mermis, Edward Baum, Josephine Shreve, Rosie Thompson, Margaret Bissett, Viola Brown, Kenny Baum and Emil Baum.
He is survived by: his wife Loretta; his children, Leo Baum, Jr. (Vicky) of Rusk, Gordon Baum (Karen) of Buchannon, W. V., Ginger Cotten (Joe) of Hoisington and Brenda Roat (Damon Phelps) of Hoisington; his son-in-law Terry Hekele of Great Bend; his grandchildren, Bri Foresman, Kim Gould, Angela Gould, Tina Harman, Cassie Andrews, Kristin Wilt, Terri Umphres, Tiffany Hekele, Tyann Hekele, Micah Cotten, Sarah Simic, Rebekah Ohlde, Joey Cotten, Kristin Roat, DJ Miller and Trenton Roat; and his siblings, George Baum of Great Bend, Jake Baum (Mary) of Kansas City, Kan., Hilda Jacobs of Gorham and Lydia Kaufman (Gary) of Great Bend. He is also survived by 22 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren.
