He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Kern and Ellen Kern (Carter); and his brothers, Wade Patrick and Kenneth Michael Kern. He is survived by: his children, Clark Kern, Kimberly Kern and Katherine Shelton; and his sister Mary Bath (Kenny). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
