He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Hitschmann and Veronica Hitschmann (Feltes); and his siblings, Urb Hitschmann and Sister Mary Urban (Celestine). He is survived by: his children, Randy Hitschmann (Stacey) of Beaver, Mick Hitschmann (Carla) of Odin and Carla Shaw (John) of Bayfield, Colorado; and his grandchildren, Jason Vasquez, Jennifer Medina (A. J.), Heather Panning (Mark), Brigette Komarek (Ryan), Jackie Vogt (Justin), Ashley Shaw, Lindsey Shaw and Candace Ortiz (Marcus). He is also survived by six great grandchildren.
