He is survived by : his wife Judy Keller of Hillsboro; his daughters, Angela Staley (Kevin) and Anita Rogers; and his siblings, Ernest Sommerfeld, Verlin Sommerfeld (Ann) and Ethel Kaiser. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.

Visitation was held on Thursday, June 13th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Olson's Mortuary - Canton P. O. (139 N Main St, Canton, KS 67428). A funeral service was held on Friday, June 14th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Saint John's Lutheran Church (617 Lincoln St, Tampa, KS 67483). A burial was held on Friday, June 14th 2024 at the Saint John's Lutheran Cemetery (617 Lincoln St, Tampa, KS 67483).
