He was predeceased by: his parents, Jacob Thonen and Rosa Wenger Thonen; and his siblings, Edna Thonen, Norman, Melvin and Alvin.
He is survived by: his wife Donna Corbet; his daughters, Sherry Ely (Alan) and Sandy Bowen (Bob); his grandson Tyler Thieme; his sister Mavis Geiger; and his sisters-in-law, Edna Mae Futscher and Vinita Thonen. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
