He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Shaefer and Kimiyo Suzuki Shaefer. He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Shaefer; his brother Jeri Shaefer; his stepchildren, Cindi Johansen (TJ), Jeff Pilcher (Amanda) and Wade Pilcher (Monica); his niece Melanie Rodiguez; and his nephew Paul Shaefer. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
