It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Iola Leafty (Hiawatha, Kansas), born in Rulo, Nebraska, who passed away on March 9, 2019, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Wallace and Minnie Wallace (Frederick); her spouse Lenard Leafty; her grandson David; and her siblings, Clarence Wallace and Becky Lynch.
She is survived by: her children, Lloyd (Sue) of Skidmore, TX, Terry (Cindy) of Robinson, KS, Carl of Tecumseh, NE, Pam Leafty of Hiawatha, Irma Pokorny (James) of Liberal, KS, Susan McCartney (Jim) of Falls City, Rita Houtz of Hiawatha and Sheri Leafty of Robinson; and her sister Shaaren Zimmerman of Brunnell, FL. She is also survived by twenty-six grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, several great-great-grandchildren.
