Wilbur Smith Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Wilbur Smith of Herington, Kansas, born in Ellsworth, Kansas, who passed away on December 17, 2020, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Benson and Eunice V. Smith (Giesler); his stepfather Henry Walter; his half-brother Ronald E. Walter; and his stepsiblings, Virgil Walter and Darlen Loman.
He is survived by: his wife Phyllis A. Long; his children, Benson H. Smith (Caroline) of Herington and Jacquline M. Miller (Kevin) of Delavan; his brother Silas Smith (Peggy) of St. Louis, MO; and his stepsiblings, Elvera Miller of Olathe and Gerald Walter of Lincoln, KS. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Due to the Covid Pandemic, a Celebration of Smitty's Life will be held at a later time.
Memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children or Herington Historical Society Museum.
