She was predeceased by: her parents, Floyd Higdon and Arminta Higdon (Krieger); her husband Jim Melrose; and her siblings, Ella Francis and George Higdon.
She is survived by: her children, Margo Ditto of Herington and Monty "Butch" Monnington of Herington; and her grandchildren, Shelby, Trampus, Spencer Monnington, Jarrod Strickbine, Chad, Darren and Luke Ditto. She is also survived by 15 great grandchildren.
