He was predeceased by: his parents, William Duane and Alice Jean Hayes (Dennison); his sister Kim Hayes; and his sister-in-law Sandy Hayes. He is survived by: his daughters, Megan Orth (Jeremy) of Englewood, CO and Samantha Sunley (Duane) of Castle Rock, CO; his siblings, Alan Hayes of Cheyenne, WY, Jason Hayes (Christy) of Topeka, Sharon Wood of Pearland, TX, Pam Haslett (Michael) of Gardner and Jan Hayes of Thornton, CO; and his grandchildren, Brett, Griffin, Freya Orth and Colton Minear. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, April 11th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home (1906 Pine St, Hays, KS 67601). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 11th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Wounded Warrior Project.
