He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Dechant and Anna Dechant (Speier); his wife Marie Antoinette Feltis; his son-in-law Ron Rippe; his grandson Kenon Lane Rippe; and his siblings, William, Gene, Richard Dechant, Josephine Legleiter, Alice Legleiter, Marcella Zimmerman, Adeline Zimmerman, Eleanor King, Stella VonFeldt and Mabel Riedel.
He is survived by: his children, Steven Dechant (Mary Kay) of Hutchinson, Debra Rippe of Aurora, CO, Judith Kisner (Mark) of Sugar Land, TX and Glori Dechant of Olathe. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials are suggested to St. Joseph Church or to Thomas More Prep-Marian High School.
