We bid farewell to Virgil J. Pfannenstiel of Hays, Kansas, born in Antonino, Kansas, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on November 10, 2024 at the age of 89. Virgil touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph N. Pfannenstiel and Alvina Pfannenstiel (Leiker); his brothers, Arlen Pfannenstiel and Dennis Pfannenstiel (Noveline); and his brother-in-law Eugene Zimmer.
He is survived by: his wife Dolores Pfannenstiel (Fisher) of Joseph's Church; his children, Leon Pfannenstiel (Melinda) of Hays and Jane Younger (Curtis Brungardt); his siblings, Vernon Pfannenstiel (Mary Jane) of Hays, Gerald Pfannenstiel (Janice) of Munjor, Lee Allen Pfannenstiel of Missouri, Mary Ellen Zimmer of Hays and JoAnn VonFeldt (Darrel) of Hays; his sister-in-law Darlene Pfannenstiel of Shawnee Mission; his grandchildren, Tara Graham (Cody), Chris Younger (Danae), Luke Pfannenstiel (Kim), Joel Younger (Amber), Hanna McGann (Cory), Kirk Pfannenstiel and Jarett Pfannenstiel; his great grandchildren, Carter, Cady, Bentley, Laney, Trevor (Brooke), Taylan, Jadyn, Katlyn, Kimber, Emery, Jayce, Klay and McGann; and his great great grandchildren, Tinley and Parker. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 13th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, November 14th 2024 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM. A rosary was held on Wednesday, November 13th 2024 from 6:30 PM to 7:00 PM at the Brock's-Keithley Funeral Chapel (2509 Vine St, Hays, KS 67601). A vigil service was held on Wednesday, November 13th 2024 from 7:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the Parish Vigil Service. A funeral service was held on Thursday, November 14th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church (883 Moscow St, Hays, KS 67601).
