She was predeceased by: her parents, John Chronister and Annie Chronister (Jones); her husband Benford E. "Ben" Smith; her siblings, Louise Little, Ruth Allison Cain and Johnny Chronister; her niece Margaret Ann Gough; her nephews, Charles Little, Dale Little and Jerry Eads; and her great-nephew Jimmy Eads.
She is survived by: her nieces and nephews, Barbara Eads of Dumas, TX, Diane Simpson (Gail) of Pflugerville, TX, Allen Chronister (Jamie) of Skellytown, TX and John Gough of Argonia, KS.
Memorials are suggested to the New Life Center – Assembly of God Church of Hays, in care of Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.
