It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John J. Flaherty of Hays, Kansas, born in Powers Lake, North Dakota, who passed away on January 22, 2022, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Henry "Jack" and Alice Flaherty (Anderson); his siblings, Dennis Flaherty (Carol) and Peggy Dorwick; his brother-in-law James Taylor; and his grandson Tanner Starkey-Flaherty.
He is survived by: his former wife Mary Meyeres; his wife Judy A. Rohr (Polifka) of Hays; his children, Mike Flaherty (Angie) of Derby, John P. Flaherty of Lenexa and Shelly Keller (Travis) of Hays; his stepchildren, Jeff Rohr (Tracy) of Overland Park and Jackie Mosher (Alan) of Overland Park; his sister Mary Taylor of Naperville; his brother-in-law Charles Dorwick of Milan; his grandchildren, Jordan Flaherty, Maddie Keller, Quinton Flaherty, Kaitlyn Flaherty, Camryn Flaherty and Karlynn Flaherty; his stepgrandchildren, Michelle McCormick (Justin), Jonathan Mosher (Kelly), Madison Klimas (Joel), Mason Rohr and Makenna Rohr; and his stepgreat-grandchildren, Charlie McCormick, Eli McCormick and Quinn Klimas. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
