With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Jean Ann Hixon in Hays, Kansas, born in Sterling, Kansas, who passed away on November 1, 2021 at the age of 78. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Homer Albert Shoop and Helen Ethel Shoop (Heter); and her sister Becky Hunley (Shoop). She is survived by: her husband Larry Hixson (WaKeeney); her siblings, Karen Nelson (Larry) and Donald Shoop (Holly); her brother-in-law Rick Hunley; her children, Krista Clouse (Darrin), Heidi Cashman (Steve) and Jon Hixson (Jessica); and her grandchildren, Emma Clouse (Jacopo Scrinzi), Chloe Clouse, Lily Clouse, Sophia Clouse, Jack Cashman, Sam Cashman, Luke Cashman, Will Hixson and Hannah Hixson. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
For many years, Jean served as director of the Trego Hospital Endowment Foundation and enjoyed her volunteer work for the Kansas Wheat Commission as a "Wheatheart," demonstrating bread making techniques across Kansas.
