He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Bieler and Julia Bieler (Hauschild); his siblings, Walt, Burgess, Bill Bieler, Jeanette Cartwright, Juanita Diefenbach, Helen Brown, Edith Dorsey and Lucille Bieler; and his nephew Kenneth Bieler.
He is survived by: his nieces and nephews, Mary Jo Hartman (Jim), Donna Dewey, April Dorsey-Tyler, Mark Brown, Wilma Diefenbach-Jones (Dale), Robin Engel (Steve A.), Steve Cartwright, Tom Brown (Joan) and Eric Brown (Judy).
