She was predeceased by: her mother Hedwig Allen (Leikam); her son Curtis Hertel; and her brother Phillip Allen. She is survived by: her sons, Fredrick Hertel of Kansas City, KS, Patrick Hertel (Angela Pruett) of Hays, Steven Hertel of Independence and Matthew Hertel of Washington, D. C.; her siblings, Stanley Allen (Karen) of Hays, Robert Allen (Sam) of Colonial Heights, VA and Rosa Lee Mewhinney (Allen) of Hays; and her grandchildren, Alyssa (Hertel), Gafner (Chase), CJ Hertel, Annie Hertel, Colton Hertel and Westen Hertel.
