Gregory Allen Schmidt Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Gregory Allen Schmidt (Hays, Kansas), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 31, 2025 at the age of 64. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Gregory Allen Schmidt to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Emery Schmidt and Shirley Schmidt (Pfeifer); his parents-in-law, Wane and Maxine Peter; his brother Mike Schmidt; and his nephew John Jones.
He is survived by: his sons, Eric (Kelli), Ryan (Jennifer) and Kyle; his sisters, Jackie Jones (Tim) of Hays and Lisa Stouffer (Allen) of Leavenworth, KS; and his siblings-in-law, Ann Schmidt (Catharine), Lynette and Rex Keeshan of Genoa, NE. He is also survived by many other family members and friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, February 4th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday, February 5th 2025 from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM at the Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home (1906 Pine St, Hays, KS 67601). A vigil service was held on Tuesday, February 4th 2025 at 6:30 PM at the same location. A rosary was held on Tuesday, February 4th 2025 at 6:45 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Wednesday, February 5th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Catherine Catholic Church (1681 St Joseph St, Catharine, KS 67627). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, February 5th 2025 at 6:30 PM at the St. Catherine 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus.
Memorials are suggested to St. Catherine Catholic Church, TMP-Marian High School for the Gardening Club and Fine Arts Club, Holy Family Elementary School, or to the Topeka Zoo.
