With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Gilbert F. Brungardt of Hays, Kansas, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Gilbert left this world on April 4, 2025 at the age of 84, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Bonaventure Brungardt and Helen Brungardt (Weber); his daughter-in-law Rita Zavora Brungardt; and his siblings, Edwin, Elmer, Sonny, Anthony Brungardt, Angie Kinderknecht, Anna Rita Weber, Clara Walters and Esther Laws.
He is survived by: his wife Lorraine Brungardt of Hays; his children, Darren Brungardt of Overland Park, Tonya Orth (Marty) of Urbandale and Audra Brungardt of Hays; his grandson Matthew Orth (Theresa Li); and his sister Helen Windholz (Francis) of Victoria. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, April 11th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, April 12th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:15 AM at the Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home (1906 Pine St, Hays, KS 67601). A rosary was held on Friday, April 11th 2025 at 6:00 PM and at 7:00 PM at the same location. A vigil service was held on Friday, April 11th 2025 at 6:30 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church (1805 Vine St, Hays, KS 67601).
Memorials are suggested to Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church for the Unify, Beautify, Glorify campaign or for masses.
