He was predeceased by: his parents, Celestine Karlin and Josephine Karlin (Staab); his wife Cynthia Ann (Kisner); his daughter Kim Niernberger; and his siblings, Omar, Alfred Karlin, Millie Pfannenstiel and Freda Hammerschmidt.
He is survived by: his children, Kevin Karlin (Marti) of Olathe, KS and Kelly Wasinger of Olathe, KS; his sisters, Wanda Shulte of Hays, Patty Kreutzer of Hays and Gerri Weber of Ellis; his grandchildren, Kayla, Macy Karlin, Kaden, Kaylee Wasinger, Justin, Kelsey and Kyler Niernberger; his great grandchildren, Kinley and Jace Niernberger; and his son-in-law Darren Niernberger of Hays.
