With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Eunice Agnes Hamel of Hays, Kansas, born in Damar, Kansas, who passed away on June 23, 2022 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Armond Ernest and Ruby Amanda Newell (Thibault); her children, Harold, Judi Phillips and Pamela Boden; her son-in-law Gilbert Berland; her grandchildren, Alex Berland and Dereck Hamel; and her siblings, Ernest Newell, Alvin Newell, Norman Newell, Donald Newell, Mary Ann Dinkel and Josephine Dougherty.
She is survived by: her children, Cindy Berland of Damar, KS, Dean Hamel (Cheryl) of Thornton, CO, Bruce Hamel and Danny Keosythong of Russell, KS; her son-in-law Danny Phillips (Vera) of Salina, KS; her brothers, Vincent Newell (Cindy) of Hays, KS and Bernard Newell (Cynthia) of Concordia, KS; and her sisters-in-law, Delores Newell of Damar, KS and Lyla Newell of Beloit, KS.. She is also survived by her 14 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials made payable to: St. Joseph Church Memorial Fund in care of the mortuary.
