He is survived by: his wife Jolene Smith of Hays; his daughters, Alisa Caruthers of Hays, Traci Hoover of Topeka and Brenna Sherlock (Bryon) of Hays; his siblings, Fred Hoover of Hays, Mary Metz (Bill) of Berryton, Carol Neihardt (Nelson) of Topeka, Connie Sheldon of Hays, Sue Hoover of Hays and Janet Kuhn (Ed) of Walker; and his grandchildren, Alex Caruthers of Hays, Taylor Daugherty of Topeka, Mckenzi Hoover (Trent Nickleson) of Pratt and Kooper Sherlock of Hays.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 5th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, December 6th 2024 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home (1906 Pine St, Hays, KS 67601). A rosary will be held on Thursday, December 5th 2024 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 6th 2024 at 11:30 AM at the same location.
Memorials are suggested to Hays City Sportsmen's Club or to the Knights of Columbus Tootsie Roll Fund.
