He is survived by: his wife Nancy Moxter of Hays; his children, Michael Apel of Overland Park and Cheryl Robben (Josh) of Hays; his sister Shelly Piland (Don) of Macksville; his grandchildren, Tyler, Hailey and Kelsey Robben; his siblings-in-law, Lowell Moxter of Overland Park and Marlene Moxter of Oberlin; and his nieces and nephews, Adam, Blake Piland, Andrea Harvey and Alissa Sapp.

Memorials are suggested to the FHSU Foundation or to St. Nicholas of Myra Catholic Church.
