He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil and Dorothy (Befort); his godson Shane Gottschalk; and his father-in-law Don Leiker. He is survived by: his wife Krista Gottschalk; his children, Tyler Gottschalk (Megan) of Hays, Luke Gottschalk (Jessica) of Houston and Katelyn Burkman (Nate) of Ellicott City, Maryland; his siblings, Gregg Gottschalk (Patricia) of Hays, Galen Gottschalk of Hays, Troy Gottschalk (April) of Westminster, Jan Meade (Joe) of The Colony and Becky Serri (Andy) of Sarasota, Florida; and his grandchildren, Teagan Gottschalk, Adilyn Gottschalk, Jonah Gottschalk, Remington Gottschalk, Lily Gottschalk, Miles Gottschalk, Emerson Burkman and Donovan Burkman.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to TMP-Marian, St. Joseph's Church, or the Comeau Catholic Campus Center.
