She was predeceased by: her parents, Hugh A. Cowan and Geraldine Cowan (Maib). She is survived by: her husband Waldo W. Hale; her children, Shannon M. (Kelley McCormick) of Lakin, KS, Peter J. McCormick (Jerome Pischella) of Durango, CO, Jeff (Pam Hale) of Hickory, NC and Sheri L. (David Kvamme) of Tallahassee, FL; her siblings, Kelly (Jatrice Cowan) of Cedaredge, CO and Cathy (Doug Flummerfelt) of Shenandoah, IA; her grandchildren, Brittany Barnhardt, S. Brooke McCormick, Bode McCormick, Taylor Robert, Regan Hale, Ali Hale, Trey Hale, Jordan Kvamme, Madison Kvamme and Jeffrey Kvamme; and her great grandchildren, Sophia Kvamme, Parks Robert, Annabelle Barnhardt and Clay Barnhardt.
Candis was also a longtime member of PEO Chapter FQ, the Lakin Booster Club, she always dressed as the Easter Bunny at Easter, and was extremely involved in Love Lights A Tree for the American Cancer Society.
