She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, William Jennings and Emma Amelia Chance (Wachs); her husband Howard Snay; her siblings, Bill Chance and Ferne Brooks; her daughters, Marlyce Snay of Hutchinson, KS., Mary Ann (Fred Saenger) of Hutchinson, KS. and Joyce Snay of Hutchinson, KS.; her sister-in-law Joan Hunsberger Chance of Houston, TX.; her grandchildren, Stephen Saenger of Kansas City, KS., Stephanie (Gary Telleen), Barbara (Doug Seibel) and Kendra (Jeff Bent); her great grandchildren, Rebecca, Isaiah Dowds, Rachel, Connor Siler, Sarah, Josh Hoover and John Telleen; and her great great grandchildren, Noah, Emma, Evie, Leah Dowds and Oliver Hoover.
Due to state mandates and the serious nature of COVID-19, the family will have a private celebration of Merna's well-lived life.
