He was predeceased by: his parents, Elbert Watkins and Betty Watkins. He is survived by: his wife Colleen; his brothers, Elbe Watkins (Susan), Stan Watkins (Sue), Kevin Watkins and Jeff Watkins (Leslie); and his children, Brandon Watkins (Bridget), Wendee Brungardt (Jeff), Ryan Watkins (Tara), Mindy Watkins and Jodi VanGundy (John). He is also survived by his 17 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hartford Community Center (117 Commercial St, Hartford, KS 66854). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Sr. High School (100 Commercial St, Hartford, KS 66854).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hartford High School towards Coach Mike's Character Award.
