He is survived by: his brother Darrell Schmidt of Emporia; and his nieces and nephews, Tracy Ashton, Jeff Schmidt, Rebecca Korgol, Sheila Palmer and Marlan Torrens.
Visitation was held on Sunday, February 2nd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home (605 State St, Emporia, KS 66801). A funeral service was held on Monday, February 3rd 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, February 3rd 2025 at the Maplewood Memorial Lawn Cemetery (2000 Prairie St, Emporia, KS 66801).
