He was predeceased by: his parents, Hub Konkel and Dot Konkel; his siblings, Chuck Konkel and Pat Huffington Brace; and his siblings-in-law, Bob Huffington and Dorothy Konkel.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Ellen of Harper; his children, Kim Konkel of Harper, Mike Konkel (Julie), David Konkel (Lori) of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Jeff Konkel (Natalie) of Olathe, Kansas and Devin Konkel (Dawna) of Kansas City, Kansas; his grandchildren, Caitlin Henderson (Jake), Cassidy Miller (Jeremy), Abby Konkel, Madison Konkel, Zach Konkel, Brynn Konkel and Griffin Konkel; his great grandchildren, Grady, Porter and Finley Henderson; his siblings, Ron Konkel (Lucy), Gary Konkel (Carol) and Adele Anderson; and his sister-in-law Connie Friedel (Leonard). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, in-laws, and a host of relatives and friends.
On May 10, 2020, with his wife by his side, Jim died of complications due to Covid-19.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Patrick Catholic Church or Harper Food Bank and can be sent in care of the funeral home.
